OpenStructures is an exploration of open modular construction where anyone designs for everyone on the basis of one shared grid.
I tried to get away from the rigid aesthetic that this exploration actually has.
Indeed this concept has a really geometrical and industrial aesthetic, leads by 3D printing and laser cutting. This is why I decided to try a more handcrafted approach.
The starting point of this collection of spoons was to make a tool that fits the grid of OpenStructures.
The technic of hammering allowed me to create a volume from a flat metallic shape by extending and refining the material without losing the original proportions of the tool.
